This is one of the first hydrophone recordings I made. Prior to this two-day recce in Milang, I tried making some self-built hydrophones at home using various materials. The hydrophone used in this recording was affectionately dubbed 'Nancy' and consisted of a piezoelectric transducer fixed inside a circular plastic pillbox. The cables were threaded through a couple of holes and it was sealed up using hot glue. Although it looked really ugly, it never leaked once [!] and was used for the rest of the year alongside a few other DIY hydrophones (none of which fared as well as 'Nancy'.)
